Lesson Policy & Terms of Agreement

At Feeling Groovy Music School, we want every student to enjoy their learning experience and progress with confidence. These policies are designed to keep lessons running smoothly, ensure fairness, and provide flexibility for families.

1. Lesson Fees

  • Private lessons are $45 per 30 minutes.

  • Your first lesson is free.

  • Ongoing lessons are billed at $90 per fortnight (2 lessons in advance).

  • Payments are made via automatic direct debit/credit card.

2. Ongoing Enrolment

  • Enrolment is continuous throughout the year, meaning your spot is reserved until you give notice to withdraw.

  • Lessons continue during school holidays, with the exception of a short Christmas/New Year break (approximately 2–3 weeks).

  • To withdraw from lessons, 30 days’ notice is required.

3. Missed Lessons & Rescheduling

  • Rescheduling: If you would like to reschedule your lesson, we require at least 7 days’ notice so we can plan ahead. (For example, by letting us know at your lesson the week before)

  • Personalised Lesson Plan: If you cannot attend but provide at least 3 hours’ notice, your teacher will prepare a personalised video lesson and written practice plan for that week.

  • Late Notice/No-Show: If less than 3 hours’ notice is given, the lesson is forfeited.

  • Why this policy? Our teachers dedicate this time specifically for you, and your lesson fee helps cover rent, protect teacher income, and keep your spot secure. It’s often very difficult to reschedule at short notice. This policy ensures fairness for both students and teachers, while still giving you the chance to keep learning through a personalised lesson plan if you can’t attend.

4. Holidays & Holding Spots

  • Families going on holiday may hold their spot by continuing payments. In this case, the student will receive a tailored video lesson and written practice guide for the missed weeks.

  • Alternatively, you may pause your enrolment and stop payments, but your lesson time will be released to other students and you may lose your spot.

  • Extended breaks may require re-enrolment and a new time slot, depending on availability.

5. Teacher Absences

  • If a teacher is unavailable, we will:

    • arrange a substitute teacher, or

    • reschedule/make-up the lesson, or

    • provide a credit on your account.

6. Public Holidays & Breaks

  • Lessons do not run on public holidays. A lesson plan or make-up will be provided, or billing will be adjusted.

  • A scheduled Christmas/New Year break will be communicated in advance, and billing will pause during this time.

7. Communication

  • Parents and students are encouraged to communicate via email or phone with any questions.

  • We provide regular updates on student progress and upcoming opportunities.

8. Agreement

By enrolling at Feeling Groovy Music School, you agree to the above policies and commit to keeping your account up to date. Our goal is to provide a positive, consistent learning environment for every student.
